Charlene K was founded by Teong Kay and his wife, Gigi in 2005. Envisioned as a contemporary jewelry line, it was named after their daughter, Charlene. It was first based on Beverly Hills and expanded from there.

Doing business has always been a great interest of his. The jewelry line however is not the first business venture of Teong Kay.

Teong Kay immigrated to the United States armed with a business degree and with thirty-five dollars in his pocket. When he arrived here he got fascinated by fashion so much so that over time, he took entry level positions in garment factories to learn the business. Then, he used his business degree to realize his love for fashion and design by opening several boutiques. Teong Kay created two successful dress collections called Pave and St. Romei. His dress collections were sold at many exclusive boutiques as well as fine department stores, including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Ave, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. From these ventures, Teong Kay had also fostered a passion for fine jewelry and believes that a woman’s look is not complete until and unless she is accessorized with jewelry. After years of planning, he decided to follow his passion for jewelry and launched the Charlene K jewelry collection.

Charlene K was created to appeal to every woman’s desire for self expression through the wearing of beautiful, timeless pieces. Mindful of the many facets of a woman, the jewelry line presents varied designs that invite one to make up and discover a new look. The collection is made up of 14K Gold Vermeil, 14K Rose Gold Vermeil, and Sterling Silver jewelry combined with semi-precious stones and druzies.
